Brief information about the O'Neill brand

The original O´Neill surfing brand was established in 1952 in California.
The founder was Jack O´Neill, an enthusiast, who opened the first surfing shop in the garage of his house in Santa Cruz.
Currently O´Neill belongs among the best-known surfing and snowboarding brands in the world.
The Lifestyle Collection combines the experiences obtained during the development of perfect technical products used for the extreme sports with the elegance and practicality for everyday use. O´Neill shows directions and trends not only in the field of sports equipment, but also in the lifestyle collections.
These products are used, developed and tested by the best surfers, snowboarders, freestyle skiers, wakeboarders, windsurfers or kiteboarders.
Apart from others, O´Neill team is represented by the legend of the snowboard free-ride Jeremy Jones, a budding free-stylist Seb Toutant, a surfing star Jordy Smith, a winner of the U-ramp in free-style skiing Virginia Faivre and the world champion in Kiteboarding Kevin Langeree.
O´Neill is the organizer of prestige sports events. The O´Neill Evolution snowboarding race, which is organized every year in the Swiss resort of Davos belongs among the highest in the six star categories of the prestige TTR series.
The series of the most extreme surfing races which are conducted every year around the entire world (Tasmania, Scotland, South Africa, Canada and California) under the name of Cold Water Classic belong among the top surfing events not only for the O´Neill brand, which is organizing these events, but also among the best rated surfing races ever. As usual, the individual races are not organized on the beaches full of people, but on the coasts with the most turbulent and coldest ocean and of course with the giant waves.

About the O´Neill brand
The original O'Neill surfing and lifestyle brand was established in 1952, when the young enthusiast Jack O´Neill invested his never ending passion for surfing into the development of clothing which will allow the overcoming of the marine elements. As the first person in the world he invented a neoprene vest and thus he found the way how to prolong his surfing experiences in the cold ocean of the southern California. Shortly after that he opened his first shop in the garage of his house in Santa Cruz, California.

Although many things have changed since those humble beginnings, we will find the Jack’s original vision – producing of functional and innovative products for the boarding activities in everything this company does. The basic vision of the O'Neill brand – a constant innovation of products, designs and technology go hand in hand with the development of action sports. The desire for innovation constantly pushes O'Neill forward. Development of the first neoprene surf suit, invention of the strap for holding a surfboard (the so-called board leash), introduction of the first seamless boarding shorts in the world and a pioneering combination of electronics with sportswear (O'Neill H Division) is the living proof of that.

Today O'Neill is a brand with a global reach. Given its rich fifty-year-old history and a connection with the surfing and snowboarding culture, O'Neill will always strive to strengthen its position as one of the leading boarding brands in the world.

The O´Neill head office is situated in the Dutch city of Warmond. Since 2007 the company is a member of the Logo International, B.V. holdings.
