0109 2011 - 1109 2011Photography exhibition from the European Youth Games
The beginning of the school year brings a photography exhibition from the European Youth Games in the Vaňkovka Gallery. The photographs capture the course of an extraordinary event which gathered 500 disabled children and young people from Europe to Brno.
The images remind us that sport of the disabled has its own magic, thrill and emotions. The European Youth Games in Brno 2011 were the biggest event of this kind in Europe. They were organized by the Emil Foundation Fund in cooperation with the European Paralympic Committee.
The uniqueness of the Games consisted also in the fact that the possibility to register into selected disciplines was not conditioned by compliance with rigorous standards of medical classification or by performance limits and it was opened for all disabled young people with enthusiasm for sports and meeting new friends.
The individual images capture potential future Paralympics competitors but mainly successful and self-confident people who know how to win…
